renewal without conditions. This year, we are pleased to recognize the following SUNY authorized charter schools:
Please join us in wishing them all continued progress and success as they work to build the case for their next charter renewal! Click here for ceremony details. Please R.S.V.P. online, or call 518/433-8277, ext. 2046 by Wednesday, April 30, 2008 Videoconference on Student Discipline/Parent Complaints Friday, May 16th, 2008 This videoconference is designed to provide information and address questions regarding the often related topics of student discipline and parent complaints. In some cases, school discipline or complaint policies may need to be updated; in others, the school's actual practices may need adjustment to comply with state and federal law. We want to ensure that all SUNY authorized charter schools have the information they need in order to properly handle common discipline issues and complaints/grievances. Time will also be allotted to answer your questions. This videoconference is intended for school board members, school leaders and school staff with responsibilities related to student behavior/discipline. Forum on High School Accountability Wednesday, May 21st, 2008 As SUNY authorized charter schools continue to add grades at the high school level and new charter high schools are approved, the challenge of maintaining effective accountability across all grades has been a priority topic of discussion. The Institute is seeking your input and insights as we work to develop new Accountability Plan guidelines for high schools. This Forum is an opportunity to learn from those who are undertaking this work now - exploring which assessments are used, how data are collected, and graduation and post-secondary expectations - as well as to brainstorm about new ideas for moving forward with others who are just beginning these efforts. Ths Forum is designed for school board members, school leaders and staff with accountability/assessment responsibilities. Click here for Forum details.
