Community Roots Charter School

District: CSD 13
Authorizer: NYC Chancellor
The Community Roots Charter School (CRCS) believes that all students can meet high academic standards and will provide the support and challenges that each individual student needs to be successful. Two teachers in every classroom allow for increased individual attention for each student and varied learning settings combining whole group, small group, and individual work and instruction. Teachers and families communicate on a regular basis through conferences, newsletters, phone calls, and email. CRCS sees families as partners in their children’s education. The CRCS curricular model is based on extensive research of other highly successful schools. Students are invested and excited about learning and have extended time in literacy experiences. CRCS recognizes that it is essential for all students to have direct academic instruction, enrichment opportunities, and arts education within the regular school day, 8:15-3:45.
