Inwood Academy for Leadership Charter School (IALCS) empowers middle school and high school students in Inwood and Washington Heights to become change agents in their communities by focusing on Community Leadership, Character Development and College Preparedness.

IALCS utilizes a Core Knowledge based curriculum, which gives students the background information they need in order to build their academic success. This foundation, along with highly qualified and engaging teachers, gives our students the tools they need to be successful in college and beyond.

IALCS works with its students from an asset-based perspective. We believe that students should be seen for what they bring to the table and not for what they are lacking. Our faculty and staff see young people through the lens of leadership and constantly seek to build on their current strengths.
