| Description: |
The mission of Our World Neighborhood Charter School is to provide kindergarten through 8th grade students with the foundation of a rigorous liberal education. Students will develop a historical perspective on our own time and place through an integrated study of history, geography, literature, the social sciences science, math, art and music. Students will in this way receive the broad education needed to thrive in today’s world. The school is committed to preparing all students to meet the academic challenges of the best New York City High Schools. Since 2005, OWN has operated from two locations: the elementary school, K-5, is housed at 36-12 35th Avenue in Astoria (Queens); and the middle school, 6-8, is located at 31-20 37th Street in Astoria (Queens). |
