Final Notice – The following charter renewal has been approved by operation of law:

Bronx Charter School for Excellence, an education corporation operating more than one charter, sought to renew its corporate authority for a full term of five years as well as its authority to operate the following charter schools:

  • Bronx Charter School for Excellence is located at 1952-60 Benedict Ave, Bronx, NY 10462 in CSD 11 and chartered to serve 810 students in grades K-8 for the 2023-24 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school sought a five-year renewal of the charter commencing August 1, 2024. According to the renewal application, the school will continue to serve 810 students in grades K-8.
  • Bronx Charter School for Excellence 3 is located at 1160 East 213th St, Bronx, NY 10469 and 3956 Carpenter Ave, Bronx, NY 10466, both in CSD 11, and chartered to serve 570 students in grades K-7 for the 2023-24 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school sought a five-year renewal of the charter commencing August 1, 2024. According to the renewal application, the school will decrease to serve 540 students in grades K-8.
  • Bronx Charter School for Excellence 4 is located at 1160 East 213th Street, Bronx, NY 10469 and 4300 Murdock Ave, Bronx, NY 10466, both in CSD 11, and chartered to serve 420 students in grades K-6 for the 2023-24 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school sought a five-year renewal of the charter commencing August 1, 2024. According to the renewal application, the school will grow to serve 540 students in grades K-8.
  • Bronx Charter School for Excellence 5 is located at 1946 Bathgate Ave, Bronx, NY 10457 in CSD 9 and chartered to serve 360 students in grades K-5 for the 2023-24 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school sought a five-year renewal of the charter commencing August 1, 2024. According to the renewal application, the school will grow to serve 540 students in grades K-8.

The SUNY Trustees: 1) received the renewal application on or about August 15, 2023, 2) approved the renewal on March 27, 2024, and 3) the renewal was approved by operation of law on or about July 24, 2024.
