Democracy Prep New York Charter Schools

Final Notice – The following charter renewal has been approved by operation of law:

Democracy Prep New York Charter Schools, an education corporation operating more than one charter, sought to renew its corporate authority for a full term of five years as well as its authority to operate the following charter schools:

• Democracy Prep Endurance Charter School is located at 1529 Williamsbridge Rd, Bronx, NY 10461, and 240 East 123rd St, New York, NY 10035, in CSD’s 11 and 4, and is chartered to serve 613 students in grades K-4 and 9-12 for the 2023-24 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school sought a five-year renewal of the charter commencing August 1, 2024. According to the renewal application, the school will expand to serve 900 students in grades K-5 and 9-12.
• Democracy Prep Harlem Charter School is located at 2005 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10035, 207 West 133rd St, New York, NY 10030, and 212 West 120th St, New York, NY 10027 in CSD’s 3 and 5 and is chartered to serve 1,188 students in grades K-12 for the 2023- 24 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school sought a five-year renewal of the charter commencing July 1, 2024. According to the renewal application, the school will decrease to serve 1,105 students in grades K-12.

The SUNY Trustees: 1) received the renewal application on or about August 15, 2023, 2) approved the renewal on January 30, 2024, and 3) the renewal was approved by operation of law on or about July 24, 2024.
