East Harlem Scholars Academy Charter School

First Notice – The SUNY Trustees received the following revision application:

• East Harlem Scholars Academy Charter School, an education corporation with the authority to operate more than one school, requests the following revisions:
  • East Harlem Scholars Academy Charter School, located at 2017 First Avenue, New York, NY 10029 and 2050 Second Avenue, New York, NY 10029 in Community School District (“CSD”) 4 is chartered to serve 1,127 students and 1,142 students in grades K-12 for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 school years, respectively. The school requests an enrollment revision to serve 458 students in grades 9-12 for the next two school years.  The elementary and middle school students will be accommodated under East Harlem Scholars Academy Charter School II.
  • East Harlem Scholars Academy Charter School II, located at 1573 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10029 in CSD 4 is chartered to serve 526 students in grades K-8 for the 2026-27 through 2027-28 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school requests an enrollment revision to serve 596 and 607 students in grades K-8 for the next two school years, respectively accommodating the K-8 students from East Harlem Scholars Academy Charter School.

The SUNY Trustees, or their designees, the SUNY Charter Schools Committee, anticipate consideration of this application as early as April 7, 2026.
