Open Meetings Law Guidance Update for September 13, 2022

Governor Hochul has not issued an extension of the COVID state of emergency.  The flexibilities regarding videoconferencing under the Open Meetings Law expired on September 12th.  Boards must ensure a quorum of board members are available in publicly-accessible and noticed locations in order to conduct business.

Recent updates to Open Meetings Law, effective September 13, 2022, allowing any flexibility moving forward are available through the New York State Committee on Open Government’s website.
