Elmwood Village students step up in leadership with unique jobs program
February is Youth Leadership Month. It’s a time to celebrate and encourage young people to step into leadership roles within their communities. At Elmwood Village Charter Schools, students are getting a head start through the 8th Grade Jobs Program. The program provides hands-on opportunities to develop responsibility, teamwork, and leadership skills.
“We see our older students being able to be role models and help our younger students grow,” Shannon Burke, EVCS’s instructional coach said.
Mya Dora is an 8th grader participating in the program.
“I help around with papers and check to see if any need to be refilled” Mya said.
The program is designed to prepare students for real-life responsibilities….
