Success Academy Charter Schools – NYC

Final Notice – The following charter renewals have been approved by operation of law.

Success Academy Charter Schools – NYC, an education corporation operating more than one charter, sought to renew its authority to operate the following charter schools:

  • Success Academy Charter School – Bensonhurst is located at 99 Avenue P, Brooklyn, NY 11204 in CSD 21 and chartered to serve 445 students in grades K-4 for the 2023-24 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school sought a three-year renewal of the charter commencing August 1, 2024, to align its charter with other schools under the education corporation.  According to the renewal application, the school will expand to serve 664 students in grades K-4.
  • Success Academy Charter School – Bergen Beach is located at 1420 East 68th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11234 and 3109 Newkirk Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11226 in CSD 22 and chartered to serve 735 students in grades K-8 for the 2023-24 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school sought a three-year renewal of the charter commencing August 1, 2024, to align its charter with other schools under the education corporation.  According to the renewal application, the school will expand to serve 1,103 students in grades K-8.
  • Success Academy Charter School – Bronx 4 is located at 885 Bolton Avenue, Bronx, New York, NY 10473, in CSD 8 and chartered to serve 445 students in grades K-4 for the 2023-24 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school sought a three-year renewal of the charter commencing August 1, 2024, to align its charter with other schools under the education corporation.  According to the renewal application, the school will expand to serve 643 students in grades K-4.
  • Success Academy Charter School – Rosedale is located at 147-65 249th Street, Queens, NY 11422 and 109-55 128th Street, Queens, New York 11420 in CSDs 29 and 28 and chartered to serve 1,077 students in grades K-10 for the 2023-24 school year, the final year of the current charter The school sought a three-year renewal of the charter commencing August 1, 2024, to align its charter with other schools under the education corporation.  According to the renewal application, the school will serve 1,124 students in grades K-8.
  • Success Academy Charter School – Springfield Gardens is located at 132-55 Ridgedale Steet, Queens, NY 11413 in CSD 29 and chartered to serve 1,025 students in grades K-8 for the 2023- 24 school year, the final year of the current charter The school sought a three-year renewal of the charter commencing August 1, 2024, to align its charter with other schools under the education corporation.  According to the renewal application, the school will serve 822 students in grades K-8.
  • Success Academy Charter School – Washington Heights is located at 701 Fort Washington Avenue, New York, NY 10040, and 461 West 131st Street, New York, NY 10027 in CSDs 6 and 5 and chartered to serve 925 students in grades K-6 for the 2023-24 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school sought a three-year renewal of the charter commencing August 1, 2024, to align its charter with other schools under the education corporation.  According to the renewal application, the school will serve 790 students in grades K-8.

The SUNY Trustees: 1) received the renewal applications on or about March 17, 2023, 2) approved the renewals on October 12, 2023, and 3) the renewals were approved by operation of law on or about February 28, 2024.
