Uncommon New York City Charter Schools

First Notice – The SUNY Trustees have received the following renewal application:

Uncommon New York City Charter Schools, an education corporation operating more than one charter, seeks to renew its authority to operate the following charter schools:

  • Leadership Preparatory Ocean Hill Charter School is located at 51 Christopher Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11212 and 6565 Flatlands Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11236 in CSDs 23 and 18, respectively, and chartered to serve 1,458 students in grades K-12 for the 2024-25 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school seeks a one-year renewal of the charter commencing August 1, 2025, to align its charter with other schools under the education corporation.  According to the renewal application, the school will decrease to serve 1,212 students in grades K-12.
  • Ocean Hill Collegiate Charter School is located at 1137 Herkimer St, Brooklyn, NY 11233, and 791 Empire Blvd, Brooklyn, NY 11213 in CSDs 23 and 17, respectively, and chartered to serve 572 students in grades K-8 for the 2024-25 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school seeks a one-year renewal of the charter commencing August 1, 2025, to align its charter with other schools under the education corporation.  According to the renewal application, the school will decrease to serve 451 students in grades K-8
  • Williamsburg Collegiate Charter School is located at 157 Wilson St, Brooklyn, NY 11211 in CSD 14 and chartered to serve 432 students in grades K and 5-8 for the 2024-25 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school seeks a one-year renewal of the charter commencing July 1, 2025, to align its charter with other schools under the education corporation.  According to the renewal application, the school will decrease to serve 225 students in grades 5-8.
