The Academy Charter School

First Notice – The SUNY Trustees have received the following renewal request:

The Academy Charter School, an education corporation with the authority to operate more than one school, seeks to renew its charter for five years as well as its authority to operate the following schools:

  • The Academy Charter School is located at 117 N. Franklin St; 127 N. Franklin St.; and 159 N. Franklin St., Hempstead, NY 11550, in Hempstead Union Free School District, and is chartered to serve 1,775 students in grades K-12.  The school seeks a 5-year renewal of the charter commencing August 1, 2024.  According to the renewal application, the school seeks to serve 1,999 students in grades K-12.
  • The Academy Charter School – Uniondale is located at 100 Charles Lindbergh Blvd, NY 11553, in Uniondale Union Free School District, and is chartered to serve 1,550 students in grades K-12.  The school seeks a 5-year renewal of the charter commencing August 1, 2024.  According to the renewal application, the school seeks to serve 1,740 students in grades K-12.
