The SUNY Trustees have received the following revision application:
Math, Engineering, and Science Academy Charter High School 2 is an education corporation with the authority to operate Math, Engineering, and Science Academy (MESA) Charter High School: South Brooklyn opening at 1222 63rd Street, Brooklyn, NY 11219 in Community School District 20 for the 2025-26 school year serving 125 students in grade 9 and growing to serve 490 students in grades 9-12 by the 2029-30 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The education corporation requests to contract with MESA Links, Inc., a not-for-profit educational management service provider, to provide certain business and academic related services including but not limited to educational strategies, curriculum and program development, business administration, recruitment, and financial management.
The SUNY Trustees, or their designees, the SUNY Charter Schools Committee, anticipate consideration of this application as early as June 10, 2025. The Institute welcomes any comments you may wish to provide. Final Notice – The following charter renewal has been approved by operation of law.
Henry Johnson Charter School is located at 30 Watervliet Ave, Albany, NY 12206 and chartered to serve 360 students in grades K-4 for the 2024-25 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school sought a five-year renewal of the charter commencing August 1, 2025. According to the renewal application, the school will grow to serve 652 students in grades K-8. The SUNY Trustees: 1) received the renewal application on or about March 15, 2024, 2) approved the renewal application on October 9, 2024, and 3) the renewal application was approved by operation of law on or about April 22, 2025.
