Final Notice – The following charter revision has been approved by operation of law.

KIPP NYC Public Charter Schools, an education corporation with the authority to operate more than one charter school, requested the following enrollment revision:

  • KIPP Freedom Charter School, located at 2246 Jerome Avenue, Bronx, NY 10453 and 1825 Prospect Avenue, Bronx, NY 10457 in CSDs 10 and 12, respectively, is chartered to serve 755 students in grades K-3 and 5-8 for the 2024-25 school year growing to serve 845 students in grades K-8 for the 2028-29 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school requested an enrollment revision to serve 660 students in grades K-3 and 6-8 for the 2024-25 school year, growing to serve 845 students in grades K-8 by the 2028-29 school year.  The revision serves to align better the school’s growth pattern such that operating grades in the elementary program grow naturally to complete the planned K-8 program.  The SUNY Charter Schools Institute, as the SUNY Trustees’ designee: 1) received the revision application on or about September 30, 2024, 2) approved the revision application on February 13, 2025, and 3) the revision application was approved by operation of law on or about June 6, 2025.

Final Notice – The following charter revision has been approved by operation of law.

Elm Community Charter School, located at 79-17 51st Street, Queens, NY 11373 in Community School District (“CSD”) 24, is currently chartered to serve 468 students in grades K-5 for the 2024-25 through 2027-28 school years. The school sought a revision to add a middle school program beginning in the 2026-27 school year serving 728 students in grades K-6 for the 2026-27 school year and growing to 840 students in grades K-7 for the 2027-28 school year. The SUNY Trustees have received the following revision application:

Math, Engineering, and Science Academy Charter High School 2 is an education corporation with the authority to operate Math, Engineering, and Science Academy (MESA) Charter High School: South Brooklyn opening at 1222 63rd Street, Brooklyn, NY 11219 in Community School District 20 for the 2025-26 school year serving 125 students in grade 9 and growing to serve 490 students in grades 9-12 by the 2029-30 school year, the final year of the current charter term.  The education corporation requests to contract with MESA Links, Inc., a not-for-profit educational management service provider, to provide certain business and academic related services including but not limited to educational strategies, curriculum and program development, business administration, recruitment, and financial management.
