First Notice – The SUNY Trustees received the following revision application:

  • Diamond Charter School is approved to be located in the Hempstead Union Free School District and is chartered to serve 162 students in grades K-1 for the 2026-27 school year growing to serve 486 students in grades K-5 for the 2030-31 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school requests to temporarily incubate in the West Hempstead Union Free School District for a period not to exceed two years while facility acquisition and construction are completed within the Hempstead Union Free School District. The school still prioritizes serving the students of the Hempstead Union Free School District.

  • Lamad Academy Charter School, a charter school education corporation authorized by SUNY, located at 1060 Clarkson Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11212 in Community School District (“CSD”) 18, seeks to merge with Lamad Arverne Academy Charter School, a charter school education corporation authorized by SUNY, authorized to open a new charter school to be located in CSD 27 in the 2026-27 school year, such that when the merger is approved, Lamad Academy Charter School would be the successor education corporation authorized by SUNY under the name “Lamad Academy Charter Schools.”

Final Notice – The following charter revision was approved by operation of law.

  • Explore Charter Schools of Brooklyn is an education corporation with the authority to operate more than one charter school, including Explore Enrich Charter School approved to be located in CSD 17 or 18. Minisink Charter School, originally approved by the SUNY Trustees in March of 2019, was considered to take over authority to operate Explore Enrich Charter School. As originally approved in 2019, Minisink Charter School will relocate the school to CSD 5. The school will serve 72 students in grades K-1 for the 2026-27 school year and grow to serve 216 students in grades K-5 by the 2030-31 school year, the final year of the charter term.

The SUNY Trustees: 1) received the revision application on or about August 5, 2024, 2) approved the revision application on October 9, 2024; and, 3) the revision application was approved by operation of law on November 4, 2025, nunc pro tunc to January 27, 2025.

Success Academy Charter Schools – NYC, an education corporation with the authority to operate more than one school, sought the following revisions:

  • Success Academy Charter School – Bronx 5 Upper, located at 604 East 139th Street, Bronx, 10454 in Community School District (“CSD”) 7, is chartered to serve 119 students in grades 3-5 growing to serve 206 students in grades K-4 for 2026-27 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school sought an enrollment revision to serve 253 students in grades K-5 for the 2025-26 school year and 638 students in grades K-4 for the 2026-27 school year.
  • Success Academy Charter School – Bronx 5 Lower, located at 604 East 139th Street, Bronx, 10454 in CSD 7, is chartered to serve 250 students in grades K-2 growing to serve 640 students in grades K-4 by the 2026-27 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The education corporation requested to establish a separate education corporation, Strive Charter School, under a separate board of trustees to govern and operate this charter school in order to provide a program rooted in the successful educational program operated by the current education corporation but allowing for a different and innovative model delivery with an independent board of trustees operating a school with optional expanded hours and school year. The education corporation also sought an enrollment revision for this charter school which would permit the school to serve 325 students in grades K-4 for the 2026-27 school year.
  • Success Academy Charter School – Norwood, located at 268 East 207th Street, Bronx, NY 10467 in CSD 10, is chartered to serve 533 students in grades K-3 for the 2025-26 school year and 633 students in grades K-4 for the 2026-27 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school requested an enrollment revision to serve 593 students in grades K-4 for the 2025-26 school year.
