Brilla College Preparatory Charter Schools, an education corporation with the authority to operate more than one school, requested the following revision:

  • Brilla College Preparatory Charter School, located at 413 East 144th Street, Bronx, New York 10454, 222 Alexander Avenue, Bronx, New York 10454, and 1160 Beach Avenue, Bronx, New York 10472 in Community School Districts (“CSDs”) 7 and 12, respectively, is chartered to serve 921 students in grades K-12 for the 2025-26 school year growing to serve 941 students in grades K-12 by the 2029-30 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school requested to revise the structure of its joint high school program ceasing the partnership with Public Prep Charter School Academies at the end of 2025-26 school year and continuing the high school program known as “Vertex Partnership Academies” solely under Brilla College Preparatory Charter School’s charter. The school also requested an enrollment revision to serve 1,158 students in grades K-12 for the 2026-27 school year, growing to serve 1,182 students in grades K-12 by the 2029-30 school year, to accommodate and permit the high school students from Public Prep Charter School Academies who currently attend the program.

The SUNY Trustees: 1) received the revision application on or about November 12, 2025, and 2) approved the revision application on January 22, 2026.

Ascend Charter Schools, an education corporation with the authority to operate more than one school, requested the following revision:

  • Flatbush Ascend Charter School, located at 123 Linden Boulevard, Brooklyn, New York 11226 and 1833 Nostrand Avenue, Brooklyn, New York 11226 in Community School Districts (“CSDs”) 17 and 22, respectively, is chartered to serve 402 students in grades K-7 for the 2025-26 school year growing to serve 451 students in grades K-8 by the 2028-29 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school requested an enrollment increase to serve 520 students in grades K-7 for the 2025-26 school year, growing to serve 558 students in grades K-8 by the 2028-29 school year.

  • Diamond Charter School is approved to be located in the Hempstead Union Free School District and is chartered to serve 162 students in grades K-1 for the 2026-27 school year growing to serve 486 students in grades K-5 for the 2030-31 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school requests to temporarily incubate in the West Hempstead Union Free School District for a period not to exceed two years while facility acquisition and construction are completed within the Hempstead Union Free School District. The school still prioritizes serving the students of the Hempstead Union Free School District.
