Final Notice – The following charter revision has been approved by operation of law:

Math, Engineering, and Science Academy Charter High School 2 is an education corporation with the authority to operate Math, Engineering, and Science Academy (MESA) Charter High School: South Brooklyn, which opened in August 2025 at 1222 63rd Street, Brooklyn, NY 11219 in CSD 20 serving 125 students in grade 9 and growing to serve 490 students in grades 9-12 by the 2029-30 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The education corporation requested to contract with MESA Links, Inc., a not-for-profit educational management service provider, to provide business and academic related services including but not limited to educational strategies, curriculum and program development, business administration, recruitment, and financial management. The SUNY Charter Schools Institute, as the SUNY Trustees’ designee: 1) received the revision application on or about April 28, 2025, 2) approved the revision application on May 30, 2025, and 3) the revision application was approved by operation of law on or about September 5, 2025.

Final Notice – The following charter revision has been approved by operation of law:

Achievement First Brooklyn Charter Schools, an education corporation with the authority to operate more than one school, requested the following revision:

• Achievement First Voyager Charter School, located at 601 Parkside Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11226 in CSD 17, is chartered to serve 100 students in grades 7-8 for the 2024-25 school year and 40 students in grade 8 for the 2025-26 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school requested an enrollment revision to transfer the high school grades from Achievement First East New York Charter School to this school serving 480 students in grades 9-12 for the 2025-26 school year. The grade 8 students will be accommodated by other schools under the education corporation for the 2025-26 school year. The SUNY Charter Schools Institute, as the SUNY Trustees’ designee: 1) received the revision application on or about February 19, 2025, 2) approved the revision application on June 26, 2025, and 3) the revision application was approved by operation of law on or about October 1, 2025.

First Notice – The SUNY Trustees have received the following revision application:

Ascend Charter Schools, an education corporation with the authority to operate more than one school, requests the following revision:

• Flatbush Ascend Charter School, located at 123 Linden Boulevard, Brooklyn, New York 11226 and 1833 Nostrand Avenue, Brooklyn, New York 11226 in Community School Districts (“CSDs”) 17 and CSD 22, respectively, is chartered to serve 402 students in grades K-7 for the 2025-26 school year growing to serve 451 students in grades K-8 by the 2028-29 school year, the final year of the current charter term.  The school requests an enrollment increase to serve 520 students in grades K-7 for the 2025-26 school year growing to serve 558 students in grades K-8 by the 2028-29 school year.
