The SUNY Charter Schools Institute, on behalf of the SUNY Board of Trustees, is pleased to announce the release of the 2018 SUNY Request for Proposals (“RFP”) to establish new charter schools, and for existing education corporations to operate additional schools. The Charter Schools Act of 1998 (as amended) requires SUNY to accept charter school applications by way of a Request for Proposals process. The statute mandates that SUNY issue a draft RFP for public comment prior to issuing the final RFP.
